Hello long lost Irissunflowerpetal, thanks for introducing a note of calm reason ... I read your little reply last night and went to bed wondering what might come of it, and sure enough it provoked, as i anticipated (or dreaded!) , without a crystal ball or a mentor, a great flurry of repetition and what seemed to me to be non-sequitors ... please let's try to be gentle with each other people, and clear-sighted with ourselves ... ?

Marty, I'd like to thank you for painting a clear picture. I also help support I-95 as it's only a few miles west of my home. In addition theres the infamous I-4 to beautiful downtown Orlando and on to the west coast. I understand about the educational system as I was a part of it here in Volusia County. The difference is I taught the other end of the spectrum. I worked with (more work than actual teaching) ESE or Exceptional Student Education. The alphabet soup was LD (Learning Disabled) ED (Emotional Disabled) and EMH (Educable Mentally Handicaped). Yep all three in the same classroom, we called it VE (varied exceptionalities). After 13 years I gave it up.

The money allocated to ESE was mostly fed$ and some from the state in the form of loto bucks. The lotto was to suppliment not pay for. It seems that the governor needed the school $$$ for other things and the lotto saved the day. I'm now semi-retired but like a good citizen still pay my taxs. My Air Force retiremet is tax free due to a disability.

Thanks again on the lesson about our tax dollars at work.

Wow! Now that I'm practicing T'ai Chi, I've shortened my elliptical program from four miles every other day to 3 miles. Feels more balanced.
Feels great! Just needed a little tweaking for my exercise program.

Peace,

A.S.

Was that your own shortening perchance ?

Wow, and it has taken so many thousand years to get there. Well done.

hi pj,me with my non educational background, but plenty in foreground...wondered,pondered awhile, nah, what is non sequitors, does that mean those tools for the garden that you prune roses with, you non got some, you can borrow mine, see told you i,m slightly thick, but just so much as you wouldn,t really notice, haha! on a more serious note, hate serious, much rather fun,but all this debate is getting weary, its like the house of commons debate, this is supposed to be a board for exchanging ideas, being spiritual, sometimes getting heated, not a bad thing, but soon forgotten,ah well as all things,it will pass, sorry to hear you got shorter abs, don,t type too much,or give up something,or you soon won,t be able to reach keyboard, joke, only joke, phew. Anyway, can i take this opportunity to wish all a very loving peaceful christmas, let the fun and frolicks begin, love and light to all, irisx

Iris, you asked what is a non se·qui·tur ? and no one responded. Or I missed it, any way a non sequitur is : a statement (as a response) that does not follow logically from or is not clearly related to anything previously said. Seems to be a lot of that on the board recently.

Anyway wishing all a very Merry Christmas or a wonderful Holiday Season whichever fits each individual belief.

Methinks our dear Iris knows very well what one is, but was skating away on a nifty piece of word play .... ... chi chi chi, cha cha cha ..... (or should I say Qi?)

Paul ,friend of mine, Methinks that your methinks is fairly accurate, however I really couldn't pass up an opportunity to mention the lack of logic that can at times run rampid on this board. Methinks that Mr. Spock would find it alarming.

Hey Zen,

To be fair, I've taken T'ai Chi before. It's just been quite some time ago. Back when I was so "serious"
in the '70s. If you can believe that.

Merry Christmas (not Happy Holidays) peace and joy,

A.S.

Hi Robert

three in one, one in three, posts, that is, like the Holy Trinity - each within the due 15 minute edit window ... you would not want to be merely increasing your post count would you ?

happy holidays, Hannaka, etc

Renewing my interest in T'ai Chi is the best thing I've done for myself in decades. (next to breathing)

Hi Zen,

If I ever were to take any martial arts again, I would choose aikido.

Peace,

This T'ai Chi practice is quite satisfying in that it leaves me feeling so balanced. It's inherent in the doing of the form.
